About Our Company
We are a small team of husband and wife doctors, with over fifteen years of experience in the field of mental capacity assessments. Because we are small we are able to offer your clients a personal and friendly service. We normally visit clients in their own homes, and a typical assessment will last about one hour.
All our reports are court-compliant and will show evidence of the application of the MCA as well as appropriate case law.
Dr Duncan Shaw performs all of the assessments, and he is dual-qualified in both medicine and law. Duncan has been trained as a civil expert witness by Bond Solon and is a Special Visitor to the Court of Protection.
Our offices are based in Bournemouth, but we are able to provide assessments across the South West of England. We aim to see your client within four weeks of you making contact, and deliver a report one week after the assessment. We can arrange more urgent appointments if necessary.
Our Aims
Our aim is to provide you with a solution to whatever mental capacity problem you may have, whether it be the complexities of testamentary capacity in an individual writing a new will, or the simple matter of whether an individual can execute a Power of Attorney. We will see your client quickly, in their own home, and treat them with the respect and dignity that we would all expect for our own relations.
Our Affiliations
We have a core group of solicitors we have been working with over the last 10 years, but we are always looking to forge new relationships with legal professionals in the South West.
Our Team
With more than 15 years experience in mental capacity assessments, our team is dedicated to providing the exemplary service our clients expect.
